“I must be a mermaid… as I have no fears of depths and a great fear of shallow living.” – Anaïs Nin

Gulfport Writing Retreat: ReNew Your Body & Creative Soul

October 29 – November 3, 2017
Historic Peninsula Inn on Florida’s Western Suncoast, Bordering St. Pete

This fun, creative writing retreat offers deep answers to questions that you might be asking:

  • How can I start or complete my book/writing project?
  • Where can I find ongoing support?
  • How do I find my inner mermaid’s creative mojo again?
  • What can I do about feeling overwhelmed like I’m drowning?
  • How do I create a different writing practice?

We happily offer these 7 benefits to make this the best retreat you have ever attended…

Whether or not you call yourself a writer, the Gulfport Writing Retreat offers you a safe, sacred and inspiring oasis to renew your love of writing. It’s said that “God is in the details.” Everything in the schedule of 6 days/5nights was lovingly designed. At times my real life distractions, judgments, and procrastination moved me from enjoying a love affair with writing to seeking the divorce court! After writing every morning for eight years, the layered practice of my Divine Dialogue Writing System ™ has evolved. It is the one sacred appointment that I keep every day. It is the joyful writing practice that I seek to share with you.

What a privilege to listen and facilitate feedback to writing sisters over the past 11 years in my monthly Divine Dialogue Writing Circle. The same is true of providing  a dynamic writing platform to dozens of contributing writers on the Women as Visionaries with Lore Raymond, a Facebook magazine page. Like pearls, their lustrous, authentic words emerged. This comes from the outer shell being cracked open due to the Sea of Life’s waves of positive and painful experiences. Many writing sisters and clients moved on to launch bestselling books, blogs, podcasts, and Facebook pages.  At the Gulfport Writing Retreat, you learn to trust and reactivate your authentic voice; a balance of group and individual writing times is reinforced through empowering feedback.

Gifting myself with the Treasure Island Beach Writer’s Retreat for my 50 birthday was an affirmation to myself that I am a writer. I went to this retreat with no end goal or expectations…Experiencing numerous powerful releases of trapped emotions, subconscious beliefs that did not serve my best and highest good and receiving heartfelt feedback of my writing are just a glimmer of the benefits that graced me during the retreat. My heart swells with love for the many gifts I received through Lore’s retreat. As I re-enter my reality, I am turning the page to a new chapter with a more attuned perspective of who I am becoming.

ReCreate Your Stories.

“You own everything that happened to you. Own your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly of them, they would have behaved better.” -Anne Lamott

You and I have been storytellers forever! Think about recent conversations and it is clear that they’re a part of most exchanges. It might be a story how you scored a bargain at a new boutique; what happened while driving to a friend’s lunch date or; why you’ve chosen to attend this retreat! At the Gulfport Writing Retreat, by diving deep into emotional waters you can discover the treasures of hidden stories. Fears are faced to gently recover them. Then like a mermaid, you’ll surface to the light carrying fresh insights.
A storytelling workshop is planned with special guest expert Lisa Kirchner.

Are you one of the many women who resists wearing the mantle of being creative?  Do you say, “Oh yes, she’s very creative. She paints. She weaves. She crochets. No, I am not creative.” Nothing could be further from the truth.

If you cook a meal, you create health. If you write a simple post, you create inspiration. If you dress in the morning, you create comfort and beauty.

The Gulfport Writing Retreat at the Historic Peninsula Inn surrounds you with creatively designed rooms—not to mention the quaint Terrace Garden, Verandah Porch and Back Patio. Just step outside to breathe in the sunshine of the charming City of Gulfport–also inspiring you with visual and sensory delights! Each day’s schedule uses this natural beauty and vibrant art and food scene to recharge your creative soul.

A workshop  to help you identify and overcome any creative blocks is planned with special guest expert Karen Truhon.

As a part of Lore’s monthly creative writing circle for 11 years, I can now add writing and co-author to my resume! With Lore’s expert coaching, three stories were published in my first collaborative book (February 2017). I’ve also taken three online courses to learn her Divine Dialogue Writing System™. I just LOVE that she intuitively engages the angels, archetypes, chakras, and moon phases for creative inspiration. It was a unique way to connect to my “voice within” and to SPIRIT. This fostered my self-healing. As someone who traveled with Lore’s VisionQuest to Bali, be assured of her professionalism, attention to detail, and delight in gifting “prezzies.” It’s sure to ignite your writing practice, enjoyment, and creativity!

ReClaim Your Power.

“Nothing can dim the light that shines from within.” -Maya Angelou

Did you know that the Tampa Bay area is often called the “lightening capitol” of the world? Symbolically, lightning represents the bridge between heaven and earth, and change. Each day your writing is sure to shine a light on new ideas and stories and perhaps illuminate dark places seeking to heal! Flashes of inspiration and breakthroughs will become ordinary miracles. At the Guldport Writing Retreat you honor me to be your writing tour guide. You also allow me to serve as a “chacaruna”–a bridge keeper–the title bestowed on me by a Peruvian shaman in 2008.

After accepting the mantle of being creative and a writer, you open French doors to breathe in the fresh air of the best of you again! In this awareness, you easily attract the perfect people, places, and things to move your writing forward. Right now you can’t even imagine the “how” when you register and attend the Gulfport Writing Retreat. Your like-minded writing sisters and I will be like mirrors to shine your light back to you through empowering feedback. Be prepared–these friendships may last long after the retreat. The schedule is intentionally designed to support your writing soar in the form of a book, blog, script, memoir, or just more expanded writing!

A memoir workshop is planned with special guest expert  Lisa Kirchner.

For others, the transformations will incubate to bear fruit later. There is no hard deadline for you to recreate your authentic voice; recreate your stories; recharge your creative soul; rekindle your self-worth or; reclaim your power. I was able to have the alone time I needed. This allowed memories to flood my mind’s eye so that people, places, and emotional episodic moments all got their due using my acrostic “visual organizer” method of honoring past experiences. All my Treasure Island Beach Writer’s Retreat objectives were accomplished and so much more! Would I do it again? Yes, but not with the expectations of sameness, but rather more opportunities for joyous, creative growth!

Here’s what you won’t experience

Only writing activities.

There are structured time blocks for group and individual writing. You’ll be inspired by the tropical beauty of Tampa Bay. Creative prompts to also inspire your Divine Dialogue Writing will include art, sculpture, angels, and archetypes. Special Artist’s Dates and surprises are planned to delight!

Personal therapy.

While this retreat is designed to renew your body and creative soul, it is not a therapeutic retreat for healing – yet we know writing heals. Some transformation is guaranteed.

Judgment and critique.

Instead of critiquing, an empowering feedback system will be taught and practiced every day. What we focus on expands! You will feel at a soul level that your authentic voice is heard and appreciated during Your Soul Cafe: Conversations that Open Hears & Inspire Actions.

Networking to do business.

Yes, this might be a result of the retreat, and it’s not the core focus. There will be activities to connect you with your writing sisters in fun and memorable ways!

This renewal time is all about YOU.

Intentionally designed, every retreat activity seeks to make you feel special and safe to step into this sacred envelope. Once you’re “inside” you can relax…renew…and write.

Taking Lore’s Treasure Island Beach Writer’s Retreat was such a treat! I didn’t know what exactly to expect, but what I received was an eye-opening new way of writing that is a gift I plan to use in the future. This was my first experience spending time with other like-minded writing sisters and I can honestly say that the women I met will be friends for life. – Gina Harber, Co-founder, Notúre

And there’s more!

  • Yoga/visualization/movement sessions throughout the retreat at different times to reshape your life
  • Daily Divine Dialogue Writing practice with a special notebook and resource materials to renew your love of writing
  • Artist’s Dates and surprises to recharge your creative soul
  • Daily creative muse and mentoring support from me to reclaim your power
  • A new, dynamic community of like-minded writing sisters to continue cheering you on to rekindle your self-worth
  • Starting in September, a secret Facebook page and monthly information calls will connect you with writing sisters before the retreat. You might choose roommates or share rides. Introductions and posts begin the process for you to recreate your stories.

Please consider another writing retreat if you…

  • Have very strict dietary needs; there are some gluten-free options for the continental breakfast i.e. breads, muffins, fruit & yogurt.
  • Have sensitivities to soy candles and incense burning; these are used briefly in the opening of each morning’s practice of Divine Dialogue Writing.
  • Want to only vacation in Florida. I ask you that you write and complete assignments during the writing times, not go shopping.
  • Seek information on the mechanics of writing a book, being published or having your previous works critiqued. There are experts and writing conferences to assist you—and perhaps some experts might be in attendance who you can ask.
  • Practice advice giving and coaching when it is not sought; want to talk when it’s time to write which we do in silence or; can’t put away the cell phone during our instruction and writing time
  • Desire to be around specific kinds of writers. This retreat will attract diverse women, like the many seashells you’ll discover on the beach.
  • Don’t know my work. Please visit my Amazon Author Page to read my blog posts and my two Facebook pages. They are Women as Visionaries with Lore Raymond and the Writer’s VisionQuest. You are invited to now join this private and fun, writing resource group. Then see if there’s alignment between our energies.

Thank you, Lore Raymond, for being one of the keys that unlocked my Voice.
